HD Brows

HD Brows differs to many other treatments as we don’t believe in a one shape fits all ethos. Brows are as individual as fingerprints and so each step of the HD Brows treatment is completely bespoke from the personal consultation, shape design, tailoring and aftercare process.

The HD Brows treatment involves:

From brushed up brows to neat and defined as well as everything in-between – choosing the right brow look can be difficult. This is why each and every HD Brows treatment starts with a consultation, where not only can you choose your desired brow look, but Ruby will help you every step of the way with recommendations based on your face shape, skin tone and of course, your style.

Following the same ‘one shape doesn’t fit all’ ethos throughout every part of the treatment, includes tinting. We custom-blend our bespoke HD Brow Dyes to create the perfect tone to complement your skin tone, hair tone and overall style.

We use our exclusive brow mapping formula to design your unique shape before using a combination of High Definition hair removal techniques including waxing, threading, tweezing and trimming – all to create the perfect brow shape for you.

Finally your brows will be perfected using the HD make up collection along with a mini make up lesson to help you maintain and make the most of your brows between appointments.

The HD Brows treatment takes around 45 minutes but we would suggest allowing around an hour for the treatment.

The effects of the treatment usually last around 4-6 weeks, however this can vary depending on your hair growth. After your first few treatments Ruby will be able to recommend how often you should be having the treatment done.

I have sparse brows, can I still get HD Brows?

All hope is not lost! Ruby will work with you on a re-growth programme to achieve the perfect brow shape for you. In the meantime, you can ‘fake it to make it’ with a little make up application, demonstrated by Ruby. Use the recommended HD Brows Lash & Brow Booster to encourage and improve hair growth, apply twice a day to see the best results.

Is the HD Brows treatment permanent?

Permanent tint is used on the brows during the treatment, the lasting effects of this vary depending on skin type, routine etc. Results of the HD Brows treatment typically last around 4-6 weeks.

How old do I need to be to have the HD Brows treatment?

Due to EU law, you can’t have your brows tinted under the age of 16 – don’t worry, you can still have the treatment done from the age of 13 with parental consent however we would just need to skip the tinting stage.

Preparing for your Appointment

Please avoid applying fake tan on your face at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. The fake tan can have an adverse reaction to the tint used in the treatment.

Avoid direct sunlight/sunbeds or any products that can sensitise the skin due to the waxing aspect of the treatment.

Following the correct aftercare will help maximise the lifespan of your treatment.

The first 24 hours after your appointment:

Avoid direct sunlight, sunbeds, cleansing the brow area and excessive exposure to water (showers/steam rooms/saunas/swimming pools)  all of these factors can affect how long your HD brows tint will last

If you wish to fake tan, apply a barrier cream to the brow area/avoid the brow area all together.

Try your best to avoid plucking stray brow hairs between appointments.

Please get in touch immediately if you experience any problems after your treatment, including prolonged swelling, an itchy rash, bruising, or any kind of skin grazing, cuts or tearing so that we can advise the correct treatment. In the unlikely event that your skin does not return to normal within 24 hours of your treatment, seek advice from your GP in case you have had an allergic reaction to the wax or in case an infection is developing.

Patch Testing

A patch test is required for the LVL treatment 48 hours prior to the treatment. A patch test can be sent out in the post to you to self-apply.

Preparing for your Appointment

Make sure your eye area is completely free of any make up residue or oil prior to your treatment. If you wear contact lenses, please remove them and wear your glasses on the completion of the treatment for the first 24 hours.

Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash extensions offer a solution for fuller, thicker and longer lashes. Perfect for weddings, holidays & special occasions or for anyone looking for instant glamour that eliminates the need for mascara. Ruby uses only the highest quality of products. Lashes last up to 3 weeks depending on your lash growth and maintenance. After 3 weeks, you can chose to get your lashes ‘infilled’  to maintain your gorgeous lashes!

Depending on your personal style and the finished look you want, there are a few styles of eyelash extensions to chose from:

Classic eyelash extensions involve applying 1 individual lash to 1 natural lash. These extensions give a very natural finish.

Hybrid eyelash extensions involve alternating between classic light volume lashes. These extensions give a more fluttery and fluffy finish but still on the natural side.

Volume eyelash extensions involve applying 3-5 individual lash to 1 natural lash depending on how full you would like your lashes to look. This can be discussed at your initial appointment. These extensions give a full and impactful finish.

Will eyelash extensions ruin my natural lashes?

The biggest misconception about eyelash extensions is that they damage and pull out your natural lash, leaving you with little to no lashes. Luckily this is not the case, as long as you book in with a reputable eyelash technician who has undertaken correct training!

A patch test is not required for eyelash extensions, however if you would like to arrange to have a patch test done (recommended for sensitivity and pregnancy) then please book this in with Ruby as soon as possible.  To patch test, eyelashes are attached to the outer corner of each eye 48 hours prior to the treatment.

Make sure your eye area is completely free of any make up residue or oil prior to your treatment. If you wear contact lenses, please remove them and wear your glasses on the completion of the treatment for the first 24 hours.

Avoid using anything containing oil around the eyes, oil based products break down the eyelash glue, therefore you will lose lashes much quicker!

If you chose to wear eye make up, please ensure it is not waterproof and it contains no oils. It is important that you remove and cleanse your lashes properly.

At the end of your first appointment, you will be given an aftercare kit to look after your lashes. It is vital that you cleanse your lashes daily to avoid the build up of bacteria around the eye.

Contact lens wearers must avoid contact lenses for the first 24 hours after treatment.

Oil free eye make up remover and other eyelash extension approved products can be purchased through Ruby just ask at the end of your appointment.

Avoid excessively brushing, touching and picking at your lash extensions. This can cause damage to your natural lashes.
